Excel is not enough once sizes and colors multiply
An item is not a single row: it has variants, different availability, markdowns, returns, restocking and seasons. It takes very little to lose control.
About us
Inventary was born in Naples from the meeting of a software product and a real store. On one side, the people who build the app; on the other, the people who know suppliers, price lists, shelves, markdowns and days spent looking for a size that “should be there”.
Our direction
Give independent stores practical, accessible tools built around the way they work.
Why it exists
An item is not a single row: it has variants, different availability, markdowns, returns, restocking and seasons. It takes very little to lose control.
Knowing what is low on stock, what is not moving or what is selling well has to be immediate. Otherwise you go back to deciding on instinct.
Many management systems are expensive, complex and a poor fit for the independent store. Inventary starts from a simpler, everyday way of working.
Founders
Inventary brings technology and retail together: the product has to be solid, but also natural for people using it while they sell, receive goods or check the warehouse.
Co-founder · Product and development
Has followed the product since the first line of code: app, scanner, inventory, Excel import with AI and the technical infrastructure.
Co-founder · Sales and stores
Brings to Inventary the point of view of someone who knows selling, suppliers, price lists and the everyday problems behind the counter.
How we think
That is why we start from daily operations and only then add automation, reports and AI. If a feature does not make it clearer what to do, it is not ready yet.
Every feature must solve a concrete step: receiving goods, selling, checking stock, reading the numbers.
The app must work the way the store already works, starting from the supplier’s Excel price list.
AI should not be for show: it should reduce manual work and, when it is ready, help make clearer decisions.
Reports and advice should speak like an experienced colleague, not like a technical system you have to interpret.
Vertical focus
A clothing store does not have a generic inventory. Every product multiplies into sizes, colors, seasons, markdowns and restocking. Inventary was built for this context, not as a general system adapted afterwards.
Sizes and colors have to be precise, not handwritten notes.
An item that is not moving in July does not mean the same as one not moving in November.
Whoever is in the store has to see right away what to sell, discount or check.
Languages
Inventary speaks Italian and English. More languages will follow.
Start from the price list you already use: import the Excel file, check the variants and start building an inventory you can finally read.
